Assisi, Italy

Sorry to be a little quiet. Been busy with a couple of things but I'll try to catch up after the Easter Holidays. :) In the meantime, here's a quick one of my trip to Italy before I fly off to Prague for the long weekend!

Assisi, a town in the Italian Umbria region, is well known as the birthplace of St Francis, who was the founder of the Franciscan religious order in the town. Half a day would be sufficient to explore this pretty town however, be sure to wear comfortable shoes as Assisi is located on a hill so there's lots of slopes to walk along. The view is well worth the effort of climbing the slopes though. ;)

Chocolate Heaven at Cioccoshow Bologna

Chocolate Tools
What luck! The chocolate fair (Cioccoshow) was on when we visited Bologna! The Cioccoshow is an annual event that happens every Nov since 2005 in the heart of Bologna showcasing the works of many master chocolatiers.

All kinds of chocolates in all shapes, sizes and forms were sold so we really felt like we in Charlie's chocolate factory! Check out what we saw there! Aren't they creative??

La Sorbetteria -- The best Gelato in Bologna and probably the world!

Strawberry and Chocolate

We love Italy because of its beautiful architecture, history, food, people and of course, its Gelato!! Something not be missed especially on a hot summers day. Something to reward yourself after all the sight seeing etc. okie, that's just my excuse. haha, I would still have gelato even if i was sitting down the whole day as it's so worth the calories!

The best we ever had was found at La Sorbetteria in Bologna and to find it was a bit of a track as it was located about half an hours walk away from the town centre. But believe me, it was well worth the walk even if it's a hot day. :)

I love the clean and uncluttered feel of the shop, giving it's attention to the all important gelato. Many different flavours are available but we didn't spend enough time in Bologna to have the chance to try it all! What a waste!

The gelato is so good because it's so creamy, so smooth, so luscious, so rich!!  ohhh sooo gooodd!! We could really taste the quality ingredients that went into the gelato and our favourite was still the rich dark chocolate. Mmmmmmmmm........
